One of Gabe's employees hooked us up with free (FREE!) tickets to Le Reve last night. Le Reve is a show at the Wynn created by the same guy who did Cirque du Soleil. The theatre is small, in the round, and the stage is a big round pool. Pieces of stage rise up and down changing the depth and height of the water and platforms.
This is a part in the show when the platforms are all raised up and the performers would dance around and dive off of the platform into the surrounding water. Cool. The performers are crazily ripped and strong. They would swing around on trapeze things and grab other performers and do these amazing poses and then drop people 30 feet into the pool below. These two guys were crazy:
Yeah. You can do that, right? Anyway. Amazing show for free? Pretty Cool.
2. Fancy Shmancy meets Cheesy Wheesy
Did I mention this whole night out was a surprise? Gabe took me out for this fantastic date, and I had no idea what we were doing. We ate dinner at this really yummy fancy French restaurant in the Wynn called Daniel Boulud. The menu was intimidating because it used short French phrases to describe the food rather than descriptions like the places we're used to eating at have. So, I was a bit scared at first, BUT the food was AMAZING. We had this appetizer that was like little chicken bites stuff with different things topped with a yummy sauce and grapefruit (!) which was delicious. Red pepper hummus with sausage, onion quiche, little blueberry cake things, cabbage and pork. Yum. It was good stuff. Anyway. This is a nice place. You know. Compliments of the chef, water choices are Fiji or Peligrino, etc. But here comes the cheesy part, or at least the Vegas-y part. The restaurant is on the edge of a small manmade lake at the Wynn--the Lake of Dreams. Every twenty minutes or so there is a short show on the lake, which is actually pretty cool. But the first one we saw was a giant frog (animatronic?) singing "What a Wonderful World" on top of a waterfall.

What do you think? Classy? Trashy? Funny? Froggy?
Anyway, that's Vegas for ya.
